Your Guest Guide
You are bringing the expertise. This guide will help you arrive calm, clear, and ready for a meaningful video conversation that turns experience into a lasting authority asset.
You Do Not Need to Perform Your Expertise
Build Digital Authority is designed for thoughtful, experience-rich conversation. You do not need a perfect script, polished sound bites, or a carefully rehearsed origin story.
Come ready to share what you have learned, how your judgment was formed, and what you see differently because you have done the work. Specific stories, honest reflection, and useful examples will always serve the audience better than a pitch.
Four Steps Before Recording Day
A little preparation protects the quality of the conversation without making it feel overproduced.
Confirm your details
Check the calendar invitation for the recording date, time, time zone, and private studio link. Add the appointment to your calendar and let Tanya know as soon as possible if anything changes.
Make sure your assets are current
Your name, title, short bio, headshot, website, and social links may be used in episode notes and promotion. If anything has changed since your guest request, send the updated information before recording.
Choose the ideas that matter
Think about the experiences, decisions, lessons, and point of view you most want the audience to understand. Bring stories and useful examples instead of a memorized presentation.
Prepare your recording space
Choose a quiet room, place your camera at eye level, light your face from the front, and keep the background intentional. Wear something that makes you feel confident and looks distinct from your background.
Simple Tech Makes a Big Difference
The goal is not a television studio. It is clean audio, a clear image, and a setup that lets both of us stay present in the conversation.
- Use a computer rather than a phone or tablet.
- Use a reliable microphone or wired earbuds whenever possible.
- Wear headphones to prevent echo and audio feedback.
- Connect to strong internet; a wired connection is ideal.
- Close extra browser tabs, notifications, and bandwidth-heavy apps.
- Silence your phone and let others know you are recording.
- Keep water nearby and have your charger connected.
- Test your camera, microphone, and browser before recording day.
The Conversation Is the Content
We are creating something useful enough to deepen trust now and durable enough to remain part of your body of work later.
A real conversation
This is not a scripted presentation. Tanya will guide the discussion and follow the most useful ideas, stories, and insights as they emerge.
Expertise over promotion
You are welcome to mention where people can find your work, but the episode is designed to share perspective and value—not deliver a sales pitch.
An authority-building asset
The recording may become a full episode, video, article, short clips, quotes, graphics, and other useful pieces that help the conversation travel farther.
Questions Worth Thinking About
These are prompts, not a script or a promise that every question will be asked. A few notes are fine; complete written answers usually make a conversation feel less natural.
- 01What experience shaped the point of view you hold today?
- 02What do people often misunderstand about your work or field?
- 03What did real-world experience teach you that theory could not?
- 04How has your thinking changed as your expertise has deepened?
- 05What makes expertise easier to recognize, trust, and act on online?
- 06What are you building, questioning, or reconsidering now?
Join Early. Then Settle In.
Use the private link in your calendar invitation and join 10–15 minutes before the scheduled start. We will check your sound, framing, lighting, and name display before the conversation begins.
Plan for up to 60 minutes unless your invitation says otherwise. The interview may be recorded live or pre-recorded, so follow the details provided for your specific appearance.
If you make a mistake, pause and begin the thought again. There is no need to apologize. The final edit is designed to present a clear, useful conversation.
Want a Practice Run First?
This is completely optional and not part of the actual show. If you would like to test your setup, get comfortable on camera, and do a short dry run before your real recording, you are welcome to book a practice session.
Questions or a Change of Plans?
